Yes and no. It depends on what frequencies your Verizon phone is using. Sprint only uses 1900 MHz frequencies, whereas Verizon uses 800 MHz and 1900 MHz. So it'll work if you are in a 1900 MHz area with a 1900 MHz capable phone.

zBoost (manufacturer of the above product) also makes a dual band extender, model YX510-PCS-CEL, that will works on both 800 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies. (works great and you can get it much cheaper than the manufacturer's website)

Motorola makes a device that uses bluetooth and it creates a second line on your phone system using your cell phone. With this you could leave your phone upstairs or in a place that you get good reception and just use the included cordless phone. It wouldn't help with text messaging but atleast you would be able to make and receive calls. I think sams club had it for about 100 bucks.

I have the 1900-only model of this, and can note that it will work.

[as noted, it will take whatever signal strength you have outside, and bring that 'inside'. Its a repeater, not a 'booster'.]]

So, that noted, it may help you out, it did for me.
