Also did you do a full restore from the old rom? That seemed to be my biggest issue and required me to rebuild.
Opera mini. So far everyone has hailed it as the best browser and I almost agree. It has it's share of problems though.

But lets forget about opera for a second. How about this. Only 2 apps open, pie and google maps....

Thats not so good. I wonder why some of us get such different results.

I opened up Gmaps and IE as well as having Activesync and Pocket Controller Pro and still have 13MB free. I have much more on my today screen too with SBP Pocket Plus, Weather Panel and a couple other plugins.

What do you get on soft reset?

I dont have Sprint. But the HTC/UTStarcom PPC-6800 is the best smart device I have ever owned. The new rom made it that much better but I was extremely pleased with my 6800 pre-3.16 rom installation...

Keep in mind that I had mostly the same problems with 2.17 as well.

ok, soft reset and open both gives 19mb free.
Start browsing and then stop leaves it at 15mb free.
A couple mins moving around on gmaps brings it down to 14.
Turn on gps and it goes to 13 free.

The first test was after it had not been reset since last night and I just picked it up and opened those and did the same as above. This second test looks much better, but give it a good hour of heavy use and it's crawling again. This was all the same on the 2.17 rom too, except memory management wouldn't intentionally crash pie when memory came close to being full. (...or whatever's doing that)

I'm the type of person that doesn't have time to tweak. I just need the thing to work 99% of the time, instead of pulling it out to quickly cross reference something and having to screw around with it for 5 minutes.

On the plus side:

Evdo is only finicky sometimes on boot and locks on once I place a phone call and hang up. In fact, I'm having VERY FEW problems with EV dropping once it's locked. This is ten times better than it used to be.

Rev A is good but not great. Download speeds have jump from 400-500kbps to 800-1000kbps. But for some reason web pages load and scroll slower. (maybe just pie problems?)

I haven't had any low memory issues so I purposely tried to crash my Mogul. I opened every app that I use regularly and even snapped a few pics and here are my results...

willpower101, that amazes me that you have so little available RAM with just those 3 programs running. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have 128mb, but I can't complain: 3.16 ROM works like a charm, no evident memory leaks or RAM issues, BT is great, GPS initializes quickly and outstanding battery life. Now w/ my luck I'll drop the damn thing in the toilet.

HUGE THANKS to all who help to make our devices what they should have been when they left the factory. Kudos to you...

I can live with the memory. My phone is sitting fine right now with 25 megs free. Only time PIE really eats away at memory is when it is loading large pages, but that is completely normal.

Im laughing and a bit P.O.d! Trying to get the sprint nav to work was a task to say the least! I have at least 20 hours into customer service, about the gps on my mogul. They didnt even want to add sprint nav to my phone, they kept saying your phone is not compatable, and I kept saying just add the friggen thing to my plan! Finally had it added, it still wouldnt get past pay by credit card, to make a longer story a lil shorter, the sprint customer service said i had telenav and telenav people said i had sprint nav and both are the same program and noone could give me answeres and what a mess... Needless to say sprint nav works with this new rom but telenav will not because it always looks for the external bluetooth antenna>>>> SPRINT SUCKS!!!!!!!

Sprint sucks because you're running an unofficial ROM that has features not currently released including the Sprint Navigation app?

Jeez, some people...

One other thing that isn't possible with the Mogul that would have been great is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headset jack in the phone itself (or a built-in fm transmitter!!). How cool would that be?? I listen to music and audiobooks on my Mogul (well I did until the USB jack stopped working as a result of 3.16) and it's not easy to remember to always have that dongle nearby.

I am okay with them not including a 3.5mm jack (as I am guessing a 1.5mm jack would have been more likely included anyway) I wish they would have included the adapter though instead of making us buy sketchy ones off of ebay or expensive ones from Seidio and the like. I was lucky and got a good 3.5 adapter and use my Voda headphones on my Mogul all the time. My mogul sounds fantastic (Special thanks to Conduits Pocket Player and SRS WOW HD)
