I switched to the Touch after getting pissed off with the Mogul for a couple weeks and haven't looked back - it's great having a phone that actually works out of the box and I don't have to reset 5-6 times a day.
If you can deal with the form factor and the less than optimal interface, the Moto Q9c is actually a very cool phone (I had one for a bit as well). The built-in GPS is pretty neat and the call quality surpasses the Mogul. |

i think i have came up wit a decision. i think i gonna try the moto q 9c, because it something thing different and how many times can u pick a lemon(mogul) and expect it to be good? so does any body kno if the moto q 9c has any mods and does it work well in big buildings?
i appreciate you alls help in this its been hard but sacrificing a toouch screen for better service is what i need |

i loved my q, but i kept frying them as i would put more and more software on them. it just couldn't deal with it, and i would end up stuck in bootloader screen, unable to do a damn thing.
but, having had a touch screen for a while now, i don't think i could go back to the q, as much as i liked it then |

I hope you reconsider your decision to take 9c, as its basically a Mogul light. Im one of the people who have stuck by their mogul, and not jumped ship, and it has payed off, Im sure after the upcoming Rom upgrade, youll see alot more Touch users trying to jump back on the ship.

Easy to answer this and as my opinion is the only one that matters I'm sure you'll value it:
Had treo755: solid phone/pda (thanks to palm modifying windows mobile), screen size is a bugger, one handed keyboard is a huge plus... you'll find software options limited because of screen size. Mogul is not for the faint of heart. I've had to modify and find appropriate programs to make it the jewel that it is, but I've spent a considerable amount of time doing so and now it can do everything, no limitations: AE Button Plus TouchPal InClose Mobile S2U2 Pocket Informant TCPMP Live Search TouchFlo Calendar+ All these programs are needed to make windows mobile behave so you don't feel like you have your head up your butt when using. A huge tip that most either don't realize, won't share, or just can't abide by is "LEAVE THE TODAY SCREEN ALONE" the more apps and customizations you throw on the today screen = more problems, period. I have used PPCs since they came out and am very familiar with the OS. I never thought I would be able to enjoy a device without the touchscreen until I got a moto Q. It was an incredible phone (other than the battery life). I switched from VZW to Sprint a few months ago and got a mogul for myself, but after messing with my old phone my daughter really wanted a Q so I got her one from Sprint. I don't own a Q 9c, but other than the new looks and OS update there isn't that much difference. I would recommend spending a few hours at the store playing around with the Q 9c and see if you like the feel and build quality. I liked the build quality of the original Q (just not the looks), but the Q 9c's keyboard, although easier to type on, feels cheap. YMMV I could live with all of the things that the Moto Q lacks in comparison to the Mogul, because the thing was much more reliable as a phone. I had fewer lock ups and never missed a call or message. The only thing that drove me away from the Q was the lack of software in comparison to the PPC library. So I would recommend taking a look at what kind of software you really want and see if your favorites are available for the Q. If they are, download the trial at the sprint store and mess around with it and see if you could get used to interacting without a stylus. I think that you might really enjoy the Moto Q 9c, but as others have already stated, you paid for a Mogul and are taking quite a downgrade. I would consider the Q to save a little money when signing up with Sprint, but I don't think I could downgrade to it after paying for a Mogul. |
