How can I use a custom ringtone for my text messages on my mogul?

cab and all this stuff? dude just take your audio clip created with audacity(i've had this program for yrs glad to see people on here using it too)

AND PASTE IT IN YOUR WINDOWS FOLDER AND WALLA..

There is no way to have individual text alerts at this time and probably never will be, I don't even think the DUMB phones can do that

What I meant to say is a cab file that will do a tweak or a hack to enable different tones for different contact entry as that for the ring-tone!

But I guess these DUMB phones will not be able to do it!

WM6 certainly falls short on some of users basic requests. We need a competitor!!!

Photo Contacts Pro can add rintones (MP3s) to each contact or to groups of contacts. Used it for a while and it worked well. Has a neat today plugin, too.

I don't know of a way to get different tones/notifications for text messages, only contacts.


The ring tones I use for individual contacts I copy to my phone after editing them:
I put my .mp3 files in the \Windows\ directory and in the \Windows\Rings directory depending on what I'm using it for.

You can then set different ringtones for different contacts by editing the contact and choosing your ringtone from the drop-down field "Ring tone:"

I'm sure everyone is aware of this, but threw it in here just in case.

they can be in either mp3 or .wav i just checked my phone and it recongnizes mp3, but as someone stated before if you are going to use mp3 or any sound format make sure it is short cause you can't stop it once it gets going.
