Wow I cant believe we got 9 replies in and nobody mentioned PocketDivxEncoder (free)

http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/

Just make sure you set it to the PPC profile, which encodes things at 320x240.

This is what I use. Very simple and has all the features I need - as well as being free.

Most of these seem to relate to conversion. What's the best way to rip them first? I find some of these converters don't like working with a VOB file.

SPB Mobile DVD takes care of RIPping and converting. It is not free, but well worth the money. SPB products aren't cheap, but they are usually very polished and have great support.

Lots of great recommendations here. Using Coreplayer and TCPMP to play the videos on the phone. I tried a couple of the recommendations:

1. ImToo DVD Ripper Platinum - God awful slow, took something like 4 hours to rip...must be doing something wrong, lol.
2. SPB mobile DVD - seems like a great program but everytime I transfer the rip to the phone, it's choppy and unwatchable.
3. Omniquiti Lathe 1.5 - great little program but same thing as SPB mobile DVD...conversions are choppy and unwatchable on the phone.
4. Nero mobile - will try it out and report back with results.

Encoding to WMV takes longer than any other compression format no matter what program you use. Twice as long as most. I do everything in MP4. MUCH faster encoding.

I can't get any conversions to play smoothly using either TCPMP or Coreplayer. Are there settings that need to be set on the players?
