The future of PPC devices...

Ok... So I have been sitting here at my PC... drinking some Jager & Redbull with my little PPC6800 blinking at me as if we were bestest of buddies.
I began to ponder the history of devices I have owned and how fast the technology has grown and it is exciting to think that with every upgrade every 2 years that the next device is faster, smoother, more equipped and awe-inspiring. I enjoy tinkering, tweaking and pulling my hip-fastened debate disputer device at any given moment to quell a heated topic of discussion with a video, report or .pdf document while out drinking. I often see people still chatting on their clam's and chocolates and I wonder how they are ever satisfied with such a simple device.
And since I have been drinking and figured I was in a fun mood, I wanted to share my thoughts since it came to me and I was here. I have many of you to thank for making my PDA experience that much more enjoyable and I look forward to my next device and sharing the tips, secrets, hacks, and commentary that this forum prospers from.

I love you guys.

(Just kidding. I am not that inebriated...) But I do appreciate you guys!

Cheers! (Smiley with beer mugs goes here)

I wish my ppc6800 would look up at me as if we were best buddies
instead it scowls and taunts me by freezing

googling on my ppc has helped me win a few bets while out drinking. i'd have never gotten paid if i waited till i got home to research and then tried to close the bet the following day. i.e. original lead singer for iron maiden, poinsettias aren't really poisonous, vacuum is spelled with two u's, etc.

thanks mogul!

IMO, I don't believe we have seen much technological advancement, relatively speaking.

I still have my first Motorola bag phone, banana phone with the non-folding antenna and the venerable Nokia 5160 series phone that was customized with the clear case, light up battery, antenna, etc. I remember when the "HighTech" LCD was in orange digits and ONLY displayed the number you were dialing.

When the Motorla StarTak came out it was a HUGE deal. Everyone wanted one. Now if you find one, it's covered with dust on top of the dial-tuner t.v. in the attic. That was only 6-7 years ago.

5 years ago I had that Nokia. In another 5 years phones will look like Derek Zoolander's with global Wi-fi, Bluetooth 3.0, advanced GPS, 1Ghz dual core processors, 2GB Rom/4GB Ram, etc

Vacuum with two u's...thats too funny. I have definitely won many a bet too!
