THis used to work so well on the 6700 and mediated incoming calls would put the teathering connection on hold then resume when the call was done was great...
It sadly is in addition to but considering the 4000 minute/unlimited data plan that I have it seemed ok. I was used to purchasing blocks of data that i rarely used so in the end this is still less expensive.

Furthermore since it is a add on feature you can have it turned on once the system is set up or off painlessly so it does not need to be an ongoing expense but rather a tool to use when needed.

Now back to my question; how can voice and data migrate at the same time? If I use the phone and am chatting I can also open IE so I should be able to doable while tethered.

Thank you all again

From my reading you can't do voice and data at the same time with REV O or REV A. That was supposed to be accomplished with EVDV or something like that which looks like it has been dropped by Verizon.

Thank you and disappointing

Now I must ask;

Do you know why if I am USB connected to the laptop with Activesync in the background thus keeping the battey charged can I be on the phone and migrating data at the same time however if I disconnect from the laptop so I am only on battery this does not work; meaning on battery only I can only do one or the other?

All the best

When you're connected to activesync your PC"s internet connection is passed through to the PPC, so you can use data and voice at the same time because the data is not using the CDMA radio. When you disconnect from ActiveSync the phone defaults back to the cellular radio for network access, thus precluding use of the radio for phone calls.

Thank you; now this makes perfect sense.

Now I have an associate in Cingular's 3g network with voice on GSM and data on HSDPA and when he is on line he is able to chat and surf at the same time without being connected to the laptop; why can we not do something similar?

Thank you again

Okay well I do have a solution to the problem which is a lot cheaper than paying the 15 dollars a month extra but however is still not free...

Little third party app called USB modem works like a charm over the blue tooth and usb if you like...

its bout 20 bucks one time cost well worth it in my opinion still however pisses me off that we just cant used the free version that is intrinsically native to WM 6 but my time is to valuable to try and fiture out how to make it work and this little program is actually amazingly clean so im pretty happy with it..

Just do a google search for USB modem WM 6 and give it a free trial works great for me..

GOod luck

OH and to clear up the questions bout the phone call and data at the same time you have never been able to do that.. .

Cant use both simultaneously. Just the way it works... THey both use the same radio so data can be put on hold while you recive a call and then can be resumed when your call is done.. that is the way ti has always been on the CDMA network with verizon..

Just thought id throw it out there..

FYI being on verizon I was/am able to chat on the phone and move data while connected via ActiveSync because the phone chat remains on the CDMA and the IE activity defaults to the connection as established with the laptop; this is how I understand it. As for the associate on Cingular I do not know how his system works

I will try the program that you shared

All the best
