The file/files (see HERE and HERE) will not allow you to copy/move them, I assume that they are in the ROM. Iv'e tried Resco/Total Explorer/File Explorer. This is over my head, someone else would have to chime in.

I too installed the software last night on my xv6800 and it all looked good when I started the program up just like the 6700 used to look I hit connect then it dialed up the data network connected and Then I plugged the phone into my computer and my computer installed the NDIS sharing driver but then said unidentified network and nothing will connect to the internet.

Im running vista ultimate on my PC.

I also put the registry edits into the registry with PHM registry editor.. SO yes we need to keep working on this problem Because so far my 6700 had more functionality and ability than its predecessor the 6800.....

We as in an associate of mine and I

To reiterate; if I am off the phone and attempt a connection it remains EVDO and shows connected on the phone and the laptop finally simple times out attempting to acquire an IP address. If I initiate a call while the phone shows connected then is swaps to 1X but still shoows connected. However if I am on the phone and then attempt to connect it never shows connected on the phone but rather it simply continues to attempt to connect.

Now in my world I only need this ability for when the primary system goes down which is maybe once or twice a year as such the process aka work around should not be this difficult.

Frustrating to say the least

Further assitance would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

UPDATE

I just tethered via VZ Acess; for some reason I thought that it was a bigger deal however considering it is $15.00 and is associated with my unlimited data plan it became rather painless and seems to work fine.

Per Toast

Download speed was 1.2 ish however upload was only in the high 100 range; tolerable.

Now the next question

How to talk and be tethered at the same time?? I asked to which I was told that this work around would have to be figured out on my own.

So now I ask.............. who has the answer for this?

Thank you

Is that 15 dollars in addition to the 40 you already pay or is it included in the 40 for the unlimited data plan...

THis used to work so well on the 6700 and mediated incoming calls would put the teathering connection on hold then resume when the call was done was great...
