I actually upgraded from my 6700 to the Mogul over the weekend... and I've spent around 6 hours+ installing, customizing, playing ect... and so far it has been flawless. I love the size compared to the 6700; I don't feel like I have a brick in my pocket and when I wear tighter pants I can put the Mogul in my pocket instead of my jacket, ect.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Mogul. If these forums didn't exist... I would say question it a bit more but with all the help from developers and testers this phone can really be something special. I am positive you won't question your decision one bit. |

I don't know which is more frustrating sometimes... they both are frustrating in their own ways ... overall the touch is more reliable because of ram... (still capable of freezing and need of reset, but barely compared to phones with less ram and slower processors) but the mogul does it all... just somewhat poorly because of ram... :/ anyway I gave the touch to my girlfriend since its more reliable, but she even complains about the on screen keyboard... and god forbid she has to send a text or IM... it takes some getting used to... i heart the mogul. it's a bit of time killer for me, unfortunately, lol. however, i absolutely love the way i can put whatever i want on, make it look however i want, and sometimes just try things out because someone else liked it. if i don't, i take it off.
and, there are easter eggs. i was looking through my registry last night, and noticed that somewhere along the line, some program points to a string named skank, with some numerical value. made me laugh a little. |

yep. i've tried the virtual keyboard. it works, but i prefer the keys. hell, sometimes i just send messages because i can do it quickly.
but, i have to agree with an earlier post...if it wasn't for forums (this and xda devs are my regular looksees), i'd be less pleased with the phone. but, thanks to the intertubes, the magic of the mogul can be freed. regarding ram issues, i've just been using resco manager to kill programs. i have weatherpanel and gmail checking pretty regularly, and my battery still goes 2 days. that's sooo much better than the phone i had to replace that its ridiculous. and, i love my today screen. i just stare at it sometimes. thank you adhd.

![]() I use Quickmenu, the memory was 25 before I took that picture. and sometimes when i first start the phone its starts with 28m but usually ends up at 25m then once I start opening and closing windows and programs and stuff im usually able to free it up to about 22m. anyway i also wanted to mention something i mentioned somewhere else on this forum... ehhhemmm...lol Quote:
now to touch base with what CDRacingZX6R said because I feel they made a good point ... the TOUCH does NOT have a left and right hard button.... now its unusual but SOME windows mobile software is NOT touch screen compatible.... and is IN FACT..... in some cases.... USELESS without the left and right hardkeys..... for example...... cingulars music id (wich u can get around on somewhat... enough to id a song with the D-PAD) or emulators.... lucky this is not the norm... just food for thought .... that said.... choose wisely. why the BOLD LETTERS? lol I donno..... kinda important if u didn't know tho... thos buttons r sometimes MANDATORY is alllz im sayinnnnn. ill put it like this.. if ur usually good with technology and already have alot of experience with windows mobile then u can handel the moguls ram... which is its only down fall in my opinion.... i'v never had a problem with bluetooth.... i make calls and listen to music via bt all the time. and never had the roaming issues ether.... the touch is better for the less savvy... IN MY OPINION (its actually fact im just trying to be nice lol)... not to say if you get the touch that your not savvy... only that you NEEED to be somewhat savvy to enjoy the mogul.... i can't wait till something like (or better than) the att tilt comes out for cdma... that would solve this dilemma for most |

i'm finally happy with my P4000. it only took 8 replacements to get to this point. granted the current one has a few issues, like the battery gets really hot and the battery life is horrible compared to the first 7 units, but i think that's likely due to me now using data on it when in the past i hadn't. Also, this unit has a couple minor flaws in the fit and finish, but after the trouble i went through to get this one working, i'll live with it.

I feel if you are coming from a 6700 and you are used to having to close apps on a regular basis to keep your memory in check, you will find that the Mogul is an improvement in many ways, without causing you any problems that you're not already accustom to. Depending on what types, and how many apps you run, you may not even have problems with the memory (I have no memory problems after finding this website and doing some minor customizations to my 6800)
Having more memory like the Touch offers, would be great, but I don't like the absense of some of the features of the Mogul. I personally prefer to have something and not need it, rather than need something and not have it(hardware keyboard, led flash, Wi-Fi) I have looked at the Touch in the store and played around with my friend's iPhone, and have come to the conclusion that being strictly limited to a onscreen keyboard just doesn't work for me. I think that the only phone that could be able to draw me away from the 6800, would be a CDMA version of the Tilt, since it is basically the Mogul with more memory, or a CDMA version of the Touch Dual, since that would still give me a hardware keyboard, either 20 or 16 key (although I'd probably find myself missing the full qwerty) I'd also want the phone to have Wi-Fi cuz I find myself using that quite often. In the end, it all comes down to what you're most comfortable with. Coming from a 6700, the Mogul will be an upgrade with little or no drawbacks(in comparison to the 6700) and the Touch will be nice as far as memory goes, but with some drawbacks as it is a completely different form factor. |
