the only thing that ended up working for me was to hard reset, and manually reinstall all apps, making sure the soft reset each time i installed ANYTHING to the device. ( i didnt worry about doin the same for storage card apps) this seemed to work for me.

i was intent on finding the prog that was shutting me down so after each install i would place 2 calls: one to my phone to answer by green talk button, and another to answer by bt headset. never had any ring delay or call answering issues after doing this.

the really sad part is that after doin all of that testing on the 2.09 rom, i finally flashed to 2.17 last night and practically did the same thing all over to make sure it wouldnt conflict with the newer rom... got done around 3am, but at least my phone is behaving exactly how i want it now... no issues whatsoever now -- or for now...

Remove Advance Configuration

And the issue will go away. It's related to that app.

Dang - if it's really that easy I'm stoked and appreciative of the advice. How do you know the problem's tied to Advanced Configuration?

Maybe due to some of the overclock configs in Advanced Configuration he means if you uninstall it you would not then have the handset tweaked in a way which would somehow impact incoming calls.

I just skimmed the thread, if you have not already check your SCI. Page times and call connect times can be greatly impacted by it.

Here is a link to some NAM tweaks which may help...

Either way, if you think its application related, you would want to test it with and without each program individually as well as in 1 by 1 combinations (install, check it, install another in addition to, check it) starting from an OEM stock ROM.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I experienced it for the 1st time today and it was horrible; I had to say "hello" 3 times before the caller would hear me. I thought that the call was dropped and almost hung up.

Dreamerboy - are you used AdvancedConfig 1.1? If so, it may actually be the culprit. I hard reset about a week ago and have been installing about 2 apps per day. I'm using Advanced Config 1.0 this time and I currently don't have this issue.

I have no idea if there's any truth to this, but I've heard others speculate Google Maps is the culprit. I haven't put that software on the phone yet either.

Nope, I have a vanilla setup since I'm a new user--the only programs I have added are Google Maps, PocketTV, Live Search (maps), a remote desktop utility, the HTC Home & customizer, that X/program-closing thing, and emoze (which I only turn on 1x/day). I'm running 2.17 ROM and the 1.47 radio. I also kept the Sprint programs. I really hope it's not Google Maps because I love that program. If any of you guys has success fixing this problem, please post here.

Re: long delay [3-4 seconds] answering incoming calls w/ new 2.17

So I hate to revive a dead horse...but I have seen this problem through many ROMs and resets from time to time. I am going through another "Mogul won't answer" phase right now, and just discovered something interesting. If the phone is set to ring (i.e. non-vibrate), I can reproduce the issue. But, if I turn the phone to vibrate, I can answer calls normally with either the answer softkey or the hard button. What the hell? FWIW, I am using No2Chem 5049 right now.
