I guess I'm wondering if I should bother since we're past "early 1Q 2008" and a new ROM is forthcoming -
this one seems very Sprint-derived (as opposed to HTC-derived). But perhaps that distinction doesn't make sense for the Mogul...
Curious to hear about it as well, though I'm an Alltel user and it seems that the 6800 users on this forum are about 95% Sprint. Alltel hasn't seen an update yet, and it's probably because it wasn't needed (none of the problems you Sprint users have been reporting on my Alltel phone).

I assume that once a kitchen does get released by the PPCGeeks gurus, it will be based on either this Sprint ROM or the new one ostensibly coming out in 1Q 2008.... hence my curiosity.

well for owning my 6800 less than a week, it took me a while to get up the courage to try this. Apparently i was already running 2.16 (which i have read is horrible).

I got the new ROM on my 6800 w/o any issues...

mgarcia- I used spb backup (google it), the trial version, and it created a backup executable on my memory card. flashing will completely wipe all your stuff. so after flashing i ran the executable file it created, and all my contacts and installed programs came back. not to mention my call history and sent/recieved SMS messages

What's up with the HATERS seems that Mogul was the shit not so log ago, really its not that bad of a device. I'm sure that we will find some bugs that will cause a bunch of haters for the Touch soon as well. I too will change to the Touch sometime mid next year or until I beat the crap out of my Mogul first.
But there will be another CES and another bad ass device comming out next year x-mas or q1 2009 hahaha!!!
Also we all know that really Sprint isn't that bad cause waiting on the other carriers is like preparing for a funeral it taks so long hell it takes longer.
HTC, LG, Sanyo and all the other handset makers don't just come out w/ this stuff, they have proto type devices now and they & the carriers release them after they feel they made enough money on them. Ha just look at the European & Asian markets. They have the same makers & their devices are so much further than ours I can puke.
The US is slow slow slow!!!!
The GURUS that have the kitchens and make the ROMS are like GODS to us making our life so much easier getting our devices do what we need.
My point stop with the hater-aid on carriers & devices do urrr homework like you were buying a computer buy the device and continue to support the GURUS here.

I know yeah we have been waiting for Rev A & GPS on the device but really that is the only gripe I have and most who really want the GPS already brought a GPS receiver and ap.
Well thats enough from me.

Email I got yesterday from sprint said march for the rev.A and gps upgrade. That doesn't sound like early q1 to me. Could be that the csr didn't have updated info... I hope

Although this is the response I got in regards to whether it was GPS or aGPS

"The global positioning system (GPS) is a satellite navigation system with more than 2 dozen satellites transmitting radio signals, which allow GPS enabled devices to determine their location. The location is expressed in longitude and latitude or may be shown on a map."
