Tried unchecking the USB advanced functionality box but it didnt help. The activesync tone can be heard when I connect my Mogul and the system tray icon turns green but nothing else happens.....the activesync box doesnt come up. However, when I move my cursor over the system tray icon for activesync it says that its connected. As stated earlier....a right click on the tray icon produces a pop up menu.....the synchronize option is greyed out. The "open microsoft activesync" option is clickable but nothing happens when I click on it. This scenario stays that same even after uninstalling / re-installing activesync 4.5. Weird.

I loaded activesync 4.5 onto my laptop running windows xp. When I connected my Mogul the activesync box popped up and prompted a sync setup with my mogul! It has to something with my desktop computer. Are there hidden files somewhere or something that the uninstall (via control panel) is not catching? Why would it work on my laptop but not my desktop?

Did you use the same usb cable on both machines? If not, I'd try your second cable (assuming you have one) on the desktop just to rule out that piece of hardware. I know it's simple, and I don't mean to insult your intelligence. However, if this frustrating problem existed at my house, it would take me days to discover the simplest solution.

i keep getting a microsoft office message when i try to active sync what can i do about this i get a microsoft office box that ask for my user name and password but when i enter them nothing happens but another box appear over and over again
