Exchanged Mogul - Activesync wont work

Hello,

I just exchanged my Mogul at the sprint store because of some issues. The old Mogul would sync flawlessly with Activesync. The new Mogul is unfortunately a refurbished unit but seems to work without problem.

When I try to sync it says that I'm connected but the sync box doesn't come up and the "synchronize" option is greyed out. When I right click on the tray icon and select "open microsoft activesync" nothing happens. It can however explore the Mogul and storage card via Activesync. I have tried uninstalling / re-installing but nothing works. The settings in the Mogul reference activesync are correct (sync upon connection via usb). I even uninstalled my antivirus program and tried installing activisync and syncing with the Mogul....same problem.

I have no idea what to do from here.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks very much!

I've ran into this problem before, but I'm not at a computer where I can look everything up as to what I did.

Basically I deleted the activesync profile and remade it and check your activesync and connection settings on the Mogul to be sure that USB to PC syncing is actually enabled.

Ditto. I've had this on my 6700 and then again on the 6800. Not sure what causes it. I'm guessing that my frequent connect-then-disconnect-while-still-connecting operations scrambled my profile.

As Pap said, I just deleted the partnership and created a new partnership. I've found that AS works very well over the air, but the hard-wired connections are very flakey with these devices.

When you say "delete partnership" and "create new partnership"......do you mean in activesync on the computer or on the PPC device. I did a hard reset so there isnt anything on the device from before. How do I delete a partnership from activesync on the computer.....or do I need to? I have checked every setting I can think of and it seems right. I have a linksys bluetooth adapter that I installed to see if I could sync that way. Both the computer and my Mogul detected each other and the only com port that it would take on my Mogul during setup was com 2. I set activesync to be able to sync on com 2 as well but never could get the darn thing to work.

Oh well......waddaya gonna do? Looks like I'm screwed.....I cant even get the active sync screen to open up. I get an hour glass for a second and then nothing....uuuggghh.

also if you are using a docking station for a laptop, you may have issues if you hook it up to the docking station instead of the laptop directly. Happened to me on my dell.

Delete the Activesync partnership on the PC.

You open up activesync and delete the profile name of your PPC. I'm not looking at it right now so I can't really describe it that well.

I've seen this before many times. Try this:

On your Device go to Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC. Either check or uncheck that box depending on it's current state. Resynch, should work.

You can also delete it from the PPC as well. I had to do this when I had the same problem. I deleted from both PC and PPC and set up new profile....
