Hm, maybe I should look into this. Gonna run to the Sprint store really quick to check out the touch and whatever else is available right now.

Would a phone like the ip-830w be able to tether to my laptop undetected?

I've contacted Sprint many times and have gotten nowhere! I'm tired of it. Dang, all I want is BT!!! Is it that hard?

All you guys here are good folk! Smart as hell and really friendly. I hope you have good luck swapping to a Touch. I think I'm going to swap for an iPhone.

...Out...

When you call to cancel and tell them you want to switch to AT&T + Iphone because the Mogul works poorly for you, they might hook you up. If not, then you can switch, so no real loss either way.

The only problem I have with going with retention is the fact I have a 5 phone contract and would cost me $800.00 to get out of it. Sprint has me by my balls.

Supposedly they boot problem customers who contact them too much.

So if you call *2 about it often, they may boot you out of your contract.

Or you can call retentions and see if they will swap it to keep your 5 phone contracts and if not, then just don't go through with the cancel.

1. Call retentions.
2. When they answer, if it's a girl, older man, or someone from out of the country, hang up and call back. (Young males are generally more willing to help you)
3. When they answer, the first thing you say is "is this account services?", and they will say "yes"
4. After that, ask "How much will it cost me to break my contract with Sprint?"
5. They will say "sorry to hear that you're considering leaving us, blah blah" and he'll ask you why you want to switch, and what they can do to keep you.
6. Tell them you want the Touch, since your Mogul sucks, and you're thinking of going to AT&T to get the iPhone.

You'll get what you want. They'll either sell you the Touch VERY cheap, or swap it for your Mogul.

Cicatrize,

I guess I'll try your idea. Is there a direct phone number to retentions or do I need to call front line CS and ask for retetions or just tell the CS that I want to cancel my account and they forward me to retetions? How do I get to Retentions?

I've never actually called retentions, however, common sense tells me to NEVER ask for retentions. If I were an employee and you asked for the retentions department I would see your intentions from miles away.

From what I have read on other forums, you need to call *2 (or the 1800 equivalent) and tell Claire (the machine lady) that you want to cancel your account.

Someone else may have first hand experience to share though...

Has anyone gotten a swap/trade in by going into a Sprint Store/Repair Center?
