Touch IM? no keyboard. mogul keyboard, no IM?
 

I do the same thing, and don't you find it interesting the touch is being released with IM software? and not to mention sprint TV, even tho we've got that working on the mogul already. but again IM software COMES WITH THE TOUCH? its just ironic the keyboardless ppc gets the IM.... Thanx goodness for logmein.com free.

I think its pretty ridiculous that the Touch got IM and Sprint TV out of the box for sure. Hopefully we can crack that IM to work on our Moguls... but at this point, its not looking likely.

I never got logmein to work when I had my Apache... have not tried since... so I just use the remote desktop app. Works well enough for me.

I'm still debating... I really don't want the Touch keyboard... I've installed it on my 6800 and I just can't get used to it. Like I'll think I tapped the button and so I'll keep typing and then I find out ... crap... it never went through.

I think I'm going to wait til Verizon releases their 6800 on the 11th... once we get a ROM dump from that, I'm sure Verizon will have fixed just about everything that Sprint botched.

let see how many people would go back to mogul if we get the ROM update and GPS going :)

too bad theres no way (that I know of) to upgrade the moguls ram, then it would be touch what? but I believe at some point the mogul and touch's software will be on par with each other... its the hardware thats not going to change. and the touch is lacking too much for me in that department, like WiFi, and Keyboard, and does it even have a IR reader? ...and I haven't experienced any problems with the moguls BT on the 2.16 rom at all.... but thats just me, and I use it to talk, listen to music, send files and I REALLY REALLY enjoy it... especially listening to internet radio via bluetooth. So... The touch is very koo and everything but not koo enough for me to try and swap my mogul out for it, I'll reserve that option for something more worthwhile... like the tilt, or better, but I would love to know someone with a touch so I can sample it occasionally lol.

lol I think both the mogul and touch have the same built-in A-GPS capability's, so I assume if it starts working on the mogul, it will on the touch aswell... but whatever the reason its not accessible as of yet might have something to do with the network not being up to par, which is why many people are expecting it to come with the Rev-A upgrade that was promised to both phones. I believe the A-GPS has to access the network somehow to work.... because the "A" stands for Assisted (Assisted-GPS) but if this ever does come to the mogul it will be great because It won't be like traditional gps which i believe has to have direct view of the sky, if the A-GPS is using the cellphones signal for assistance then in a sense it should work indoors... anyway don't take my word on this subject I don't clam to know anything for sure... just rambling

Called yesterday, ordered yesterday. on ups truck for delivery... i was expecting to wait like a week minimal... hey the next day works just as fine.

Well recieved it once I got home from work.. As I played around with it I noticed that it changed out my picture file on my media card it changed by itself to DCIM which is a file known for Digital cameras.. so I have lost all my photos and videos.. This killed me because I have video clips of my sons birthday turning 2 years old. Just make a new file name and copies of your vidz and piks before loading it into the TOUCH. It's odd how you put in the media card, but I like the body and it's weight. Earpiece speaker is load, BT works well and the resolution per piks and vidz are nice. So far I've uploaded all the apps and works well, listed are the ones installed. Love the Bluetooh explorer to transfer files and print files..OZ is nice and easy to use, Sprint Mobile Email is okay, and the Voice recorder is good to.. I will keep the TOUCH and my MOGUL, Its small, compact and easy to use.

Yess!! I'm finally successful in getting sprint to accept trading the mogul for the touch. Look at this email they sent me.

" I would like to inform you that the tracking number for the HTC touch will generate in the next 24hrs and when ever you wish to have the tracking number, please write back to me. I will provide the number to you. And you will get a RMA kit also for the mogul phone with the phonein which you have to send the mogul phone to the address mentioned on the kit."

Isn't this awesome!! I should have my touch with in 3-5 days. Sprint rocks (well after 3 hours of haggling on the phone and multiple e-mails, but its all good.)

It's good to see that someone was able to get the 6 tab kaiser plugin to work w/ the HTC customizer. This would be the first change I would do to this phone.
