Well here is how you can "grab" the .cab file from an ".exe" for future use.

It works with most exe's I've checked, but a few it won't when the exe is installing more than the one cab file, but here is what you do.....

1. Hook up to activesync and start to install the the file from the .exe file on your pc.

2. Let it get to the point where your 6800 is asking if you want to install on the device's screen, don't do anything just leave it for now.

3. At this point the cab file is now on your 6800 in the following directory, just go there through your PC or file explorer and get a copy of the cab and your set (drag it to pc or copy it).

Directory on 6800 Windows\AppMgr\Install

Usefull if you like to have cabs on your storage card to reinstall with, no PC required.

Can't find the CAB file after install

Please help!? As the above posts have mentioned, I can find the windows\windowsmobile folder and a couple of my installed apps are there, but very few. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? I like to keep the CABs on my SD so that I can install them away from my PC, but since switching to Vista, this seems to have changed.
