.exe to .cab files

so im to understand that my mogul will only install .cab files... I have a program thats for my ppc but its an .exe file how can i convert it or can i or any suggestions

2 ways depending on the exe file.

1. Extract the CAB file:

On your PC, install winrar.
Right click on Exe file.
There might be an option to extract the files. Click on that.
Copy and paste the cab file onto your device and install.

2. If Extract files is not available on winrar right click menu:

Install exe file.
When it is done installing, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync and find it in the folder it installed to.

Well... there's one other case. There are some apps that are EXE files meant to be ran directly on the PPC.

Given not many do this. If it is an istaller EXE file, then most definately needs to be ran from the PC first.

I use Sirf GPS Tweaker, and this app is actually an EXE file that needs to be ran directly from the PPC.

Besides from this type of exception, follow jamesus' advice.

Vista doesn't use AS, it uses the mobile center whatever it's name is... is it the same folder name?

B18DelSolT 10-31-2007 12:25 AM

well i kno its called Windows Mobile Device Center, more like crap center seeing how i havnt gottin it to wor since its been installed.

the directory is c:\windows\windows mobile, but the cabs are not there.

Pibe38 11-01-2007 12:31 AM

Are there sub directories for each app? With XP and AS it'd create something like this...

C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Palringo

In this case the CAB for Palringo, for example, would be in that directory.
