I was at my local Sprint store yesterday and since I've known the owner since high school she was telling me that there was an update coming out today. When I told her I had already heard about it on this site I advised her that the update had been out on HTC's site for a while. I told her the update everyone was waiting for was for GPS and Rev A. She said that in the email it stated that would be out 1st Quarter of 2008. I told her that I wasn't happy about it since one of the selling points was GPS since I am in Law Enforcement and use it alot and now I had to go out and spend more money for that function it wasn't right she agreed and was going to file a complaint for me but we know how that will go. So directly from Sprint the update today is the same one that was on HTC's site and any update for GPS or Rev A is not until sometime next year.

What is the Sprint site that all of you keep talking about? I couldn't find updates anywhere on the Sprint site for 6700 or the Mogul.

I use: http://www4.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/s...alId=downloads

Select Windows Mobile (CE) and it will take you to the downloads for it.

OH yeah...I had totally forgot about that Sprint download site. You guys know that there is a 'Check for Updates' thing when you start Pocket IE on the Mogul. Obviously, I've never seen any updates on there ever either.

ANd then also there's Windows Update which seems like its just there to look pretty or use up space.

So where is the new ROM upgrade, guys? Any news so far from any other Sprint employees?

el_greene 10-31-2007 12:42 PM

After performing the latest ROM upgrade I too was having tremendous problems.
However, it occurred to me that alot of the problems were probably due to the fact that I was restoring a backup that contained bluetooth reg hacks (amongst others) that the new rom may be conflicting with.

So, I just started installing all my apps fresh and it is working much better... still not the way it should though.

That doesn't make much sense. They release it on HTC's website - only to realize there's a problem. It gets pulled from HTC's website and then re-released on Sprint's website? That seems like a rather asinine process considering HTC's website is *still* showing 2.09 now. Now, I wouldn't put it past Sprint, but that just seems foolish.

Wheres my rom? It hasnt beenm released?

Donatom3 10-31-2007 02:56 PM

HTC doesn't update their site till 3:45pm PST remember? That is IF we're getting a rom update today.
