From an in store Tech position (as in me), the HTC update 2.16 hasn't been rolled out or announced to the Stores, so isn't "quite" official.

I just check this stuff everyday, thats how I know about it.

I would not doubt that the date is correct, I just think he miss-spoke the year....knowing Sprint, the rep probably meant to say 10/31/2008.:mrgreen:

I'm running 2.16 with the BT Reg Fix and all good here but I'm psycho and will "upgrade" the next time it comes out too!

FYI everyone -- sprint's website is currently down (for me, at least)...maybe there is truth to the rumor, and they're posting an optimized 2.16 ROM for the Mogul?

why would they take the site down to post an update? and what will it matter if it's 2.16, it will be what we got from htc, junk

Plus it would posted on the HTC site, not the Sprint site.

quite a few sites go through downtime when they make additions to their stores; Apple comes to mind as well...


And the reason I'd think the update for Mogul users would come from the Sprint site is because (as was stated earlier in the thread) the ROM update on HTC's site was probably intended for the GSM versions of the Titan...

Wait a minute... where did you get that info? That makes no sense at all. How could the update be intended for GSM versions of the Titan and be branded with the Sprint name and software. Are there even any GSM Titans?

I still stand by my opinion that this is not the case. The 2.09 ROM for the Mogul never made it onto Sprint's site, the 2.16 ROM didn't either. Heck... the 1.15 update released for the Sprint 700wx didn't make there either. The latest software on the Sprint site for the WM OS is the 700wx SMS patch that came after the device's release.

This makes me seriously doubt that Sprint will post a new update on their site before it appears on the HTC site... or even at all.

It's not like HTC makes updates without Sprint knowing about them, they have to work together on them.

HTC posted the 2.09 version back on thier site! yay the 31st 'Fix' is here! :(

The 2.16 update was retracted as said by a trusted Sprint source
