Reading all the problems that people have been having makes me VERY glad I have a launch phone and have never patched the device at all (in other words no Sprint Music Store).

Anyone post the new startup screen yet? It should be able to be extracted easily and put on the old rom. I am not updating (glad I held off on updating) and I want to see what it looks like.

I downgraded back to 2.09. D-pad lockup was unacceptable.

... Oddly, the memory leak seems to be largely ameliorated now. As long as I run Oxios CloseApps every once in a while, the free memory will stay at 20 or above. Previously with the same ROM, no matter what I did, the free memory would dwindle down near 10 and the system would get so sluggish that I would have to soft reset. Maybe I'm imagining this.

Keeping an eye on other threads. There are promising-sounding fixes for the D-pad and BT-shutoff issues with the 2.16 ROM. If that all gets confirmed and cleaned up, I might try 2.16 again.

p.s. -- Why are so many people interested in the startup screen? It's just another silly little "branding" animation. Ideally, the phone will run so well that we won't have to see our silly startup screens quite so often.

I'm glad I didn't upgrade to the new ROM. I'll stick with a custom Alltel ROM for now. Sprint's ROMs are junk. For every 1 problem the Sprint ROMs fix, they create 3 more problems.
