A kitchen, if I'm not mistaken, is a sort of kit for CREATING a truly custom ROM. It's almost like an SDK. The custom ROMs are, generally, the result of a kitchen. Colonel's ROM is, if I'm not mistaken, much less customized than one created with a kitchen could be.
