Re: Stuck buttons

the button issue makes protecting the screen moot.

i'll have a new (recertified obviously) imagio mon/tues.

no screen protector but i might try again on the new one. i just cant stand the soft/rubbery protectors. wish these screens were glass.

Re: Stuck buttons

I'm using the Boxwave screen protector and it's fantastic. No real difference in usability.

But yeah, it won't help protect your buttons.

Can't wait to see what I'll get this time!

This will be phone number 3 over a 4 day period, thank you fedex for your overnight shipping. Now only if VZW could be as accurate and efficient....

fyi... I have requested from the store to replace with a new (not like new) phone, they say they had them in stock but since it has been more than 30 days from purchase of the phone I have to get a refurb. Same story when calling into customer support center. Anyone know how to get them to give me a NEW phone?

Thanks
dont take no for an answer! ask for the supervisor every time you talk to someone and eventually they will get so sick of transferring you they will give in. takes a lot of patience but totally works. or threaten to cancel. either one should do the trick

Re: Stuck buttons

I've successfully ignored this thread for many months. Unfortunately, you can now add me to the mix of people with stuck buttons. I bought mine right when it came out, and have had no problems until now. My red button is the only one sticking. Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether its better to phone CS, or go straight to a store?

Re: Stuck buttons

i would just go to a store with a technician. they might be able to just fix it. might be an issue with the mylar under the keys or could just be gunky...try cleanin with air duster or a cottn swab and rubbing alcohol (dries almost instantly dont soak it though)

You can call CS if you want (review my previous post and you'll see a simple phone in may bring you lots of entertainment) the only difference with going into a store is they may be able to replace the phone right then and there instead of having to wait for it to be mailed (1-2 days for me). I tried a few stores in my area, each one has the phone "new" in stock but not for replacement.

My "like new" replacement seems to be doing quite well for a few weeks now. I will certainly take your advice if this happens again though.

For now I have a really really good feeling about this one

Re: Stuck buttons

I can't believe I never saw this thread, but me too, my End button got stuck.

Took it to a Verizon store, girl was very nice, never gave me any indication of this being a known issue, etc., gave me the telephone number for warranty replacement, got it two days later (today), and yes, it's "refurbished". Looks pretty good, but if you look closely at the face I can definitely tell it's not a new unit. Oh well.

Lesson learned here is be damned gentle on those hardware buttons!

Re: Stuck buttons

I went through so many of the like new Imagios and they sent me a few new ones as well. We figured out the problem I had some one at Verzion actually call and talk to HTC. They said if you put it in your pocket a lot the buttons will eventually fail. The funny thing is the week before this call I bought a plastick case that goes around the whole phone except the screen and buttons. HTC said that you need to use a case so that you dont rub the buttons.

I was pissed that this was the issues and it took me forever to finaly get someone to realize it.

I am stuck with this new one with the stuck media button. I dont use th ebutton that much so I have left it for the time being.

Mike

Re: Stuck buttons

Interesting that they say it is an issue with being in a pocket. My first one failed after three months of being in a holster.
