Sorry, i know this is probably simple.

have to host the photo elsewhere, like photobucket or another host, then instead of adding attachments, you just use the image insertion button in the reply.

Yep, you have to upload the image to a hosting service like Photobucket or some other one then link directly to the image in order for it to show up in the post.

Please forgive me... I looked for a "testing" forum but didn't see one. I am an Imagio user and am coming up to speed quickly.

I registered at Image Shack and am just using this post to test the upload function. I will eventually post pix of my phone if this works.

When you create or reply to a message click on the 'Insert message' icon (looks like a little mountain icon) at the top of your edit window. It will bring up a new window asking for the link. Put the url in there and click ok.

Thank you for trying to help but no matter what I do I can't get the image to "insert". Either I get just the .jpg or a url linking to the .jpg.

I don't see anything that looks like a little mountain icon. The top of my edit window looks like this:
