Weather on home screen does not update

It worked the first time I used it but it has not updated since (5 days).

I am confused to how the app gets the location, is it from the GPS or from the tower im connected to?

GPS, does the weather/location change in the Weather Tab? I've noticed sometimes the weather (and city) on the home screen don't refresh unless you go to the weather tab first then back.

Have you tried Weather->Menu->Settings, and check the box for automatic update?

When i go to the weather tab it just spins and says updating, i setup other citys and they update just fine, its only the current location that does not change or updates the weather.

Aha, well have you gone into QuickGPS and downloaded the latest satellite info there? That can help. Also someone in another thread said if you are an Alltel customer that moved to Verizon you may need to manually download a new PRL file to update your phone to work with the location service.

yes, i did all of the above. the GPS works very well (in google maps and bing maps), i did download the QuickGPS, and i made sure i have a good PRL file (5163

go into Settings==> Location

Click the HTC location Service ,Unclick Automatically decline location ........(delete)..... to use location and try to update it again

hope it works.

that checkbox is not checked

on the location screen:
improved location is ON
HTC location service is checked
Automatically decline not checked

Yes the gps has nothing to do with getting your location for the weather tab. It gets your location from cell towers or it also can get it if you're connected to a WiFi network. I figured the WiFi part out before I figured out that my Alltel PRL was my reason for it not working.

Are you actually a Verizon customer? or an Alltel customer?

Only thing I can think of is maybe the PRL you have is one of the hyrbid PRLs, or you are roaming onto another tower. Does your banner say Verizon Wireless? If it does not, then I'm pretty sure the location thing is not going to work.

I am a verizon customer and my prl is 51638 i think that is verizon. in addition it does not update even when im connected to wifi. i checked just about everything i can think of. are there any registry keys that can reset the app?
