NO VZ Navigator is needed to get gps to work.

It was said in first 2nd and 3rd post of this thread:
Turn location on.




How to:

1. press the talk button (if don't know that talk button is return the phone )
2. When the dialer appears press the "Menu" soft key
3. When the menu appears press the "Options..."
4. Press the "CMDA Services" tab
5. Select "Location Setting" in list box
6. Press the "Get Settings..." button.
7. Select "LOCATION ON" and then select "OK" in the upper right corner.
8. A warning screen appears then press "Ok".
9. Run Quick GPS (makes a difference with how fast the GPS picks up your location)
10. reset the phone.
11. Bing, Google Maps or any GPS aware application will now be able to use the GPS.
12. If GPS still does not work. Just return or sell the phone and get yourself a non smartphone... You know, one that is as dumb as you are.
13. Ignore 12. That's just for me being me.

I have been through two Imagios. And that's exactly what I did. I get GPS locks in 5-10 seconds on a cloudly rainy day from inside the basement.

EDIT: If your gps does not after following the steps above you should probably take it to verizon shop to have them look @ it.

Well, I just determined that the method described above (less the snarky comments and the reset) does work. What is interesting is that this method - going through the dialer - works while the other methods of getting to the CDMA settings -START/SETTINGS/etc - did not work.

Wondering the same thing.. but apparently some people are getting the impression that since you have to "prime" the GPS that it's locked somehow.

having the issue of weather only, google works everything else works worked fine up until my last 320 mile trip now says I am in Montijo, but google maps has me right on the block i am on? any thoughts? I can up date major cities but not my local.

I really Doubt it.... Wm7 requires ARMv7... These phones have an order version of the ARM architecture....

also.... the only device that came with windows mobile 6 or 6.5 that i know that can run wm7 is the HTC HD2
