I use it not just to rotate my display, but it has an option to "Suspend device on face down" "only if NO light", and to "suspend device in pocket".

Basically, I just turn my phone face down and it locks and more importantly, turns the screen off. I can also turn it upside down to get the same result, I guess as if I am sticking it in my pocket.

You can also take advantage of the landscape stuff, or just turn it off if you want to only use the lock screen function, but I had the same concerns as you, and this was a great solution for me.

For the Imagio its just long press end key, that gives u the option to lock or turn screen off, for me my stock vzw phone once the screen turns off it auto locks the phone. Or the right softkey default is lock is that not the case for other carriers than vzw?

I use a program called g-trigger to lock my phone, and other things also. It is a program that uses the motion sensor in the phone to assign tasks to. I shake my phone to the left, and it locks. It is a cool program. You can set it up to do many things like that. You can tell it to answer the call when you shake it in a certain direction.
