Imagio proximity sensor?

There seems to be some conflicting information as to whether it actually has a proximity sensor or not and I was hoping someone can confirm this for me. Alot of the review sites list it in the specs, but the manual only mentions the light sensor.

I ordered an Imagio today rather than waiting for the TP2 to come back in stock. I was really looking forward to the proximity sensor on the TP2 as I have a huge problem accidentally hanging up calls with the screen on. Anyways if someone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

Re: Imagio proximity sensor?

not sure if it has both, but when i bring my hand to the top of the phone while on call the screen turns off.
it might be using just the light sensor to do that.

Re: Imagio proximity sensor?

My Imagio does have a proximity sensor. When in a call and I put it to my ear the screen goes off. Move away from face and it comes on. To ear off.

Re: Imagio proximity sensor?

Is there a way to incorporate a program that will use the proximity sensor to lock the phone when you are not on it(if you put it in your pocket). Since there is no external button to do that?

I don't see why you couldn't do this, as long as the sensor works when not in a call, I just don't know if I could totally trust something like that.

This does bring up another topic though, I didn't even realize the phone was missing a power button until last night. I'm really kinda put off by this, the idea of holding end for 3 seconds, then pressing a button on the screen seems like a real pita. I know I could set a button or softkey for screen off, but nothing replaces a dedicated hard key. What do you guys think having used the phone?

Re: Imagio proximity sensor?

I have put the lock screen icon on the main screen. It takes to long to activate. Something that would be cool is if you could push the assignable button on the phone on the bottom and it lock/sleep the phone.

+1
either one or both would be great.
I only have option to reassign two buttons: long press send key and multimedia key. Anybody know how to get them all to be listed under buttons menu?
