Sense 2.1/2.5 [Updated 24-Nov-10]

Really does boot faster and 2011 runs a lot smoother. No problems yet.
And where I live the new radio 2.25 is giving me an extra bar and data is smoother, worth the flash.

First let me say thanks to all of you willing to pioneer this path. I've been patiently waiting in the wings, deciding whether or not I wanted to make the switch. I'm still not really sure it's worth it. Wanted to ask a few questions:

After I move to Sense 2.5, how easy is it restoring all of my stored info? SC stuff aside, is it easy to restore the .vol stuff . . . contacts, etc? If I'm running SBP Backup, could I use it to restore after I go to Sense 2.5?

Seems like the only issue still remaining is the weather update one. Are those of you following the steps in the first post able to text using Manila?

What are some of the other day-to-day problems you're still dealing with?

When you add 2.5 2011 it is just a .cab file and does not erase your personal data , that only happens when you flash a rom . If you install the sms fixes you should not have a problem emailing or texting , I don't.
I have only had one problem , when I run ram sweeper sometimes it will freeze up , everything else has been fine.
Just follow the install instructions in the first post and you should be fine.

Thanks jbh. Considering there's about 2 feet of snow outside switching over to the 3.04 ROM update and S2.5 will probably make it on to today's to-do list . I hope to add some value to this post after I get things running.

So i flashed the ROM to the new one and installed 2.5 (2011) and after a couple of tweaks I actually like it!

One thing is that I can't view the messages nor send a message. Tried the original WM message fix and nothing. Anything else?

As far as looks, it is looks identical. The imagio originally had a 6.1 XIP (looked and acted like 6.5, but the kernal was still 6.1), this updates it to the "shipped" 6.5 XIP. Definitely worth the flash.

This is in reference to the ROM update found here: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Go to Imagio upgrades , the conflipper 3.04 rom thread , go to post # 40 and do the download to your PC. Sync you phone to your PC open the download and follow the instructions. Once the sync starts do not touch your computer until the flash is over.Your phone will reboot when the flash is over.
There are threads on ppcgeeks and xda-developers that explain how to flash a rom - you might want to read some of them.

so with the new conflipper update everyone is talking about...i can just download the zip RUU file, and install on device? that simple?
