So, at least part of the advantage is having some of the things that we "add on" actually built in?

This may sound like a dumb question but who makes the ROMs for us? Also, instead of changing the ROM wholesale for another, will this "unlocking" allow us to tinker the ROM that's already there ourselves, or is this beyond us?

HTC and Verizon cook the shipped ROM. As for other ROMs that depends on who cooks the ROM.... You can learn how to use the kitchen. It is fairly easily to use if your willing to learn. But no the HSPL will not allow you to tinker with the ROM that on your device. You will need to do the tinkering in the kitchen and then flash the ROM to your device. Most kitchens will use the 3.04 ROM as a base, then you can add or delete what you want, etc.

I do not, nor will I ever have any access to updates or updated info so don't ask me! People are just far to sensitive in the upgrades forum so I decided to start my thread where everyone can post what they want.

I try to keep in mind what the thread starter requested about what to post here. I hope the elite team members can keep this in mind also, especially the BS part.

I know where you are coming from about the waiting for months as I asked her back in oct/nov if she could do a whitestone hardspl as a favor to us. Keep in mind this is a service being offered for free that by all rights she could charge for and people would pay. Just hang in there I would have loved to had it months ago too and have been preparing roms kitchens for 5 months now in anticipation. Soon and the end result will be worth the several month wait.

I personally wouldn't mind paying for it, as long as it was reasonably priced (<=$20). In fact, that is how I intend to act once the thing comes out. But tbh, every day we wait is one less day where we will get to benefit from Cmonex's hard work before we buy our next phones, whenever that is. And it sounds like, based on previous updates, that we are literally a single day from release... the question is- when will that single day be?

I know this forum has been SLOW lately with everyone basically just waiting for the unlocker but we still have to try to keep somewhat on topic.

I for one don't blame Cmonex for having a life... but really to pop in and say it will be a few more days/weeks or whatever should not be out of the question especially after a firm date is given. Overall though I think most here are handling it very well compared to other hspl releases.
