Re: Whitestone Android It Booted!!!

according to the other thread in XDA you extract the zip into the root folder of your SD card and then run haret..

"How to Install and Run.

For install:
  • Download latest build below [Post 4].
  • Unzip the contents of the .zip file.
  • Copy All contents of the unzipped file to the ROOT of your Storage Card.

It should look like this.
/Storage Card/
/AndroidApps/
/conf/
/media/
/DEFAULT.TXT
/dm.txt
/haret.exe
/initrd.gz
/rootfs.img
/smem.txt
/system.sqsh
/zImage

To run Android.
  • Browse to your storage card again and open/run the file Haret.exe.
  • With haret running, click on "run".
  • Wait a while. "
Everthing in the "" was taken from the XDA Thread.
I imagine the only file you'd be replacing is the one linked in the first post. ANd viola.. im at 90 percent done soo ill post some info later.

That is correct delete default.txt and add the startup.txt. I asked some of the guys from xda/htc-linux if we can get whitestone added into the topaz/rhod development tree and they agreed. There is much work to be done GPIO dumps for hardware functionality, etc. this won't be a few weeks project but months to complete probably.

this doesn't work for me . i did exactly what you posted. it boots with the TXT file and goes throught it's DOS like thing then it says "[20.780456] Kernel panic - not syncing: attempting to kill init!" then on the next line "[20-799774] Rebooting in 7 seconds.._" first time i ran it, it did reboot back to WM now it just hangs and won't reboot .

porfirio,
I get the same lousy results as you.

then on the next line
"Rebooting in 7 seconds.._"

My android was from the MegaUpload link

I get this same result on 2 different uSD cards, a 2GB SanDisk and an 8GB ADATA.

Re: Whitestone Android It Booted!!!

So I attempted to do this, and I get stuck. Been at it for a few days now to see if I can get it to work using the Android port for Rhodium Cab with the startup config attached to the beginning. Looks like the furthest I was able to get was to a DMA error. I thought that would be a problem with the SD card that I'm using (SanDisk), but no other SD card works neither. Formatted it and tried everything throughout this thread and searched Google but nothing.

Anyone have an idea of what could fix the DMA error? It would be greatly appreciated.

Did you use the bundle fordnfishin posted? It was the only one I could find that booted on my phone. It only took mine about 5 or 6 minutes the first time, because it has to create a new data file. What does the last line say that it is hung at?
