Yes, but it would require the creator of an sms app to make it happen.

About a week ago I found what command needs to be sent to our phone to control the trackball, but the creator of handcent or chomp would need to add that command in to their app.

I think i saw it work a couple times.. haven't really payed attention, but there's a section now where you can specify how long the light will stay on

That option has been there for a while on my Handcent and it has never worked. Even after this update it is still not working on my Hero.

Yes I noticed it too . it handcent seemed to work on my end either
