Too many apps can cause some major (force close) upsets.

Apparently if you go over 100 apps & you decide you want to soft reset your phone. You'll be greeted with a huge wave of force closes & no network on bootup.

I googled & I hear the number is 70 for Sprint Hero users, I guess that happens to the stock rom as I'm using Obelisk79+Modaco ROM and I'm at 98 apps, I was at 102 when the force closes happened.

Hopefully this information will help & people wont freak out when they notice the force closing hell from nowhere.

Can anyone else verify/confirm the same experience as well as the app limit?

Yea I added this to an older thread. It's happened to me a few times making me get rid of a lot of apps.

I don't know, I was on modaco and haven't gotten close w fresh. It happened stock too. I think it was around 110 including Sprint apps. It sucks BTW! I haven't tried w a2sd2 bc I don't use it, but thy may help?

That is more apps that winmo would handle i believe. I remember it lagging with half that amount

Wm was way more laggy. But I did have more apps installed with the phone still working.

Nah, Modaco AFAIK, is built with apps2sd set on default. :/

Not that I know of it seems to run very well. I havent reached that many apps. Aslo what about using the EXT3 memory to the internal memory. I seen this somewhere
