I did, then I tried the update. That downloaded and did not install correctly, I got an error upon reboot. Perhaps another restore is needed?

Yes you need to restore again. Then run the RUU. The update will not work on a rooted device.

Just putting the link here. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96913 I am running this and it is FAST! I got rid of handcent and I am using stock with no 100% issues. The rom has zero lag so far!

He wants the original . the fresh rom is very well indeed. Also did you do a wipe /system restore already . it works like a charm if not he can always reinstall the flash-RA-Recovery back
