Re: Sprint update . . . . post your results here please.
After alot of trial and error I have narrowed the culprit down to Advanced Task Killer, Fart Droid, or Facebook. I am gonna guess it is Advanced Task Killer that keeps my phone from sleeping but I am sick of hard resetting so I'm not gonna install any of these. Can anyone suggest a good Task Killer?

Also, you posted before i could tell you that Advanced Task Killer is known to have the no-sleep memory leak.

Updated to the MR via fresh 0.4 yesterday morning. After a normal days worth of use, texting (stock app), pandora, gmail, sprint nav, and calling. I took it off the charger this morning and checked a few hours later my usage was at 18%.
So I give this update a huge thumbs up, since I was previously over 95%. Edit: its 5 hours later and the percentage has hopped to 32%

In regards to a task killer, you don't need one on Android. My undersanding is that, once you go to home, your apps sort of hibernate and aren't using CPU memory. I use to have advanced task killer but, since the upgrade, I haven't needed it. I ran the update and hard reset and my up/awake time is:
Uptime - 50:17:20 Awake - 7:00:56 (14%) I've used my charger, ran GPS apps, email, Google Sync, etc. with no issues.

Hey County will I still be able to get updates from sprint if my phone is only rooted?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; A6277 Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)
No, the updates didn't work for people when they were rooted. But fresh incorporates the updates very quickly. |
