Re: Sprint Hero rooted?

this is great, it came so quick and kinda outta no where. It was really easy to root also. I tried the wifi tether app but it doesnt seem to work on my hero. My computer sees my phone and connects, but takes a longer time then usual to acquire the network address, and when it finally does i'm still not able to browse the internet on my dell mini 10v. I have tried disabling my firewall, tried redownloading the binaries for the app under settings, and many other things, but it just wont work.

Other apps that require root to run work just fine, but this one wont

Re: Sprint Hero rooted?

Can we get a quick rundown or maybe a sticky on exactly how to use this? I'm not new to phone hacking or linux by any means, but this does make me really nervous. I'd like some hand holding for my first Hero flash, if somebody doesn't mind

Im away from my PC, do I need it? I have the flashrec app and the custom image but no clue on how to use the 2, there are too many inconsistent instructions from what I've seen through Googling.

Re: Sprint Hero rooted?

I rooted the phone using some instructions off of androidforums. It basically used some files from the Flashrec app, PDAnet, and the android sdk. I have successfully rooted the phone but then I tried actually installing and running the Flashrec app on the phone and keep getting a "Could not run command" error.

I was wondering if those instructions already had me create an image and now I can't seem to run Flashrec?
