The other way to have 100% awake time was not allowing Sense to fully load before the screen goes to sleep. This is when the phone is booting up.

how many times have we all got new phones or new updates and things were still wrong?? as far as i can tell they always give us updates or product that work fine for common no brainer users but for us there is always something not right. would it really matter when they give it to us? id like to see them give us timely updates...and more often. rather then letting them THINK they have everything fixed in one lump sum.

Re: Patches in Sprints hands!

well now that the hero is rooted, i dont think it will be too long before someone makes a custom rom with these fixes already implemented. The only one that i think we might need for htc is the one to fix the bug where you dont get your texts and the only fix is a whole new phone

50 bucks says Sprint was waiting for it to be rooted so they could plug that hole and fix the bugs.

I just read over in the Droid forum VZ set a date for moto updates. HTC and Sprint should take some hints from VZ. But then again moto has a lot riding on the success of it's Android line.

I may try to remove the HTC messaging app today and see how bad I screw things up.

Modaco already has custom rom. It doesnt fix the messages problem, along with a slew of the other ones. Things like that are built into the linux binaries on this phone, and noone has figured out how to change them just yet

Re: Patches in Sprints hands!

What is considered horrible battery, coming form the touch pro, this phone is awesome. I use the stock message app so I have 100% awake time and with heavy use (internet and text use all day) plus calls I go from 6am to 11pm and still have 45% battery left. On the touch pro it would have been around 10%.

Edit: Just checked my phone and the Awake Time was down to 80%, havent restarted today and have been sending and receiving texts all day. Can anyone explain this. Usually it has been at 100% since I got it. (on 11/01/09)
