I hope The Hero gets a sub forum here. All this flip flopping between different online communities is 'scary' and I feel safe here

Man i'm LOVING this phone, I keep finding more and more to like about this phone. Can't wait till I have it setup and customized to my liking. The one issue i've found so far though is with the auto brightness. Is anyone else noticing that it'll stop working sometimes? Like it will stay bright in dark/low light when it's it's suppose to be dim? I don't think it's a hardware issue since it'll start working again if I turn the autobrightness off then back on or if I soft reset the phone. But for now it looks like it's still kinda quirky. Please let me know if it's just me or if I should go get another replacement. And i've been using taskiller as well but what I don't like is how you get a list of the apps and if you click on any of them it'll kill it instead of recall the app. You have to hold down on the app to open up the option screen that lets you select "display" to bring the app back up. I want something that does the opposite, let's me bring the app up by just selecting it FIRST then another option to close it if I want to. |

i know you can sync Windows Media Player directly to a memory card but if the Hero's media player runs like Windows Media Player Mobile then it will detect the synced songs but it would pick up on the play lists which is why i'm hoping to not have to worry about that and it'll sync directly to the Hero

Re: HTC Hero on its way to Sprint! Confirmed!
Just got back from the Sprint store to play with the HTC Hero. Here are my first impressions... This is brief since I didn't have much time...
The phone did not have a significant lag as many have mentioned but there is a noticeable 3-5 second delay when opening apps. Also I noticed that the screen would turn off extremely fast. It could be a settings issue but I did not have time to go through it. However, flipping through the homescreen was very fluid as many video reviews have shown. Sense UI was impressive but I would put it slightly above TF3D 2.0. The keyboard in portrait was not as accurate as I had hoped. I kept mistyping the words but perhaps with practice it will get better. The resolution on the screen was impressive, and I want to say it is similar to the TP2. That is all I have. Thanks. Rey |

The quick shut off is easily fixed by changed the shut off setting. I have it set to 1 minute as the default 30 seconds was shutting it off too fast and doesn't seem like 30 seconds but more like 10-15. The resolution on this thing is amazing compared to my mogul, the facebook pictures and albums are so clear! My brother in law is picking up his tomorrow since he liked it so much as well as being a google fan. It's gonna be fun trying out all the nice free apps from the market place. |
