Once you've flashed 2.1, you can never flash it back to 1.5. Ever. They updated the bootloader and it won't allow downgrading.

Re: HTC Hero200 2.1 rooting problems???

The easiest way to root and run a wifi tether.......

1. Download z4 Mod to your phone , run the application and it roots your phone.

2. Download Wifi tether from the market and install on your phone.

Takes about 5 minutes total to download, search and install.

I was able to root an Evo, a Hero and a Optimus S last nite , all worked like a charm.......enjoy !
