HTC Hero200 2.1 rooting problems???

i am currently running the Hero200 by Sprint.. all stock settings.. needless to say i hate it. Its slow, its small, it sucks. Im looking for anything to boost performance and i was told to start with rooting it..
Now im not high on the tech stuff, but i know enough to get me by the basics.. i downloaded the SDK pack and everything, unzipped the files and have them threaded on my C:\ drive.
The problems im having is when i get to the command : adb push unrevoked /sdcard..
it keeps telling me " cannot stat 'unrevoked': no such file or directory"
i follow procedure correctly..
Run cmd> cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb devices>adb push unrevoked /sdcard> epic fail.

Not sure what im doing wrong here.. all the files are in the C:\android-sdk-windows folder that need to be..if i could get some help with this, or maybe and easier way to do this for 2.1 that would be appreciated..
ALSO--- any tips and tricks or downloads to help make my phone faster would be great too!
Thanks-
AJ

Any files that you want to adb push need to be in the Tools directory in the sdk. That sounds like your problem. If you still need help you can hit me up on gtalk. Bradart.ink@gmail.com

The problem endued up that he was trying to root the OS that was built AFTER the root fix.

So what did you root then. I am confused. I have always had Windows phones. This is my first Android phone.

Make sure that you are running the stock version of 2.1 that ends with .5 NOT .6
If you have the .6 version then you need to reinstall the .5 version it is all in this thread

No offense to the asker of the question, but I doubt he'll know how to check that.
