Re: Undisited on rooting my hero

So far so good I'm running Fresh 2.3.3 right now. The rooting and flashing wasn't that bad a lot of typing but I'm done. The have one more question what does backing with Nandroid do?

Re: Undisited on rooting my hero

It is a snapshot of the entire system. Think of it this way: if you have a photograph you want to edit, you start drawing on it or cutting it. If you mess it up, you can just grab another copy of it and its like the one you changed never existed. That copy is the nandroid.

Re: Undisited on rooting my hero

Yeah the nandroid is a full backup of a ROM, settings, everything. One more thing that I like about Android is the built-in backup once you root.

Re: Undisited on rooting my hero

Hello all, I have a question. I previously rooted my phone, but lost it when i did the official 2.1 update. I read that you couldnt root again because of that. Since then I changed phones, but due to some issues I'm back to my hero again. So my question is can you reroot again now, and if so how, I didnt see any how to's in the sticky section like before. Thanks in advance.

XDA has a thread for it. Basically, they rooted 2.1, then HTC released a patch, so you'll have to run the RUU again and root it.

Thanks for the help. Right now I got my phone rooted and flashed with a custom ROM. It's now been less than a day running it and I'm already starting to like it better then the stock sprint ROM. I should have done this a long time ago.
