Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?

The stock rom just doesnt offer me anything over the current custom roms. There are some truly awesome custom roms out already and im sure its just going to get better now as the official is out.

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
I loaded the update on one of my heros and I have to say it's an improvement over the stock 1.5 but a letdown compared to some of the rooted custom 2.1 roms. I'm waiting for rooting to happen for the stock 2.1 so I can dump it.

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
No, I hate it. I had live wallpaper, wireless tether, friend-stream, and a whole host of other things that sprint left out. This ROM is crap! I will be working my butt off trying to re-root my hero! Sprint missed the mark on both the hero and moment Roms. I will root my EVO as soon as I get it as well.

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
Considering wireless tether (and wired tether) works as well tethering with one of my testicles, I may jump to the official 2.1. That's pretty much all I'd need root for and since they don't work for me anyway, I can afford missing Titanium Backup until it finally gets rooted

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
I rooted to 2.1 over a month ago, and have used a few different roms...fresh 2.0d, damage control 2.07, damage control 2.08.1, and now fresh toast 2.1. I've enjoyed the fresh toast rom the best, because it's over clocked. The phone runs so much better when using apps, surfing the web, and typing (most of the time). The only issue I really have is with the phone dialer app being really slow. With the processor being clocked at 768 mhz, it takes forever to open the app, and I'll start pushing numbers, and it will beep for 5-6 seconds straight, and only display the first number I pressed. Also, if I get a call, I can't answer it in time, as the swipe to answer is not responsive. Or it will just go to voice mail. I have lowered the max processor to 691 mhz, and that seems to make it a lot better. Almost how it was back when I didn't over clock. I can answer calls, but it takes a while for the end call button to display (10 seconds or so). I've found it's worse when not using the Sense UI (I was using Launcher Pro, which I liked, because it had the Nexus One feel).

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
Fresh 2.1.1/ freshtoast are better imo. They have all benefits of official Rom plus extras. I will just ride this out until the Evo... if anything there may be a fresh 2.2 or 2.1.2 soon that is flash, but in not touching that Sprint update with a 10 ft pole lol. Too little too late Sprint! Sprint Rom update = FAIL

Re: Rooted Users Happy with Official Sprint 2.1?
I was rooted and did flash to the new 2.1 Rom. So far I'm happy with it. I'm still going through and seeing what I can and can't do with it. About the only thing I'm starting to miss is the Wifi Tether, but it's not a deal breaker at this point. Give it some time and someone will have root access for 2.1
