I cannot do any updates on my hero including profile or prl. sprint wants me to take the phone for service but I cannot. apparently the water damage sticker got wet when I put on my phantom skinz. so is there a way to update my prl through adb or flash perhaps? ill have to hold onto this phone for awhile yet. my phone works fine but I cannot do updates. suggestions guys?

What rom are you running, and what carrier? Fresh 2.0d has a built in PRI fix. If you were using experimental 2.1's then your PRI gets messed up and it breaks everything. Installing Fresh 2.0d will correct your PRI, then you should be able to download the correct PRL. You may need to do update profile / update prl a few times after you first flash. Read the release notes.
