Facebook Sync not working HELP!!!

I do use the website & have it bookmarked for when I actually use FB... I'm trying to get FB nsync to work to sync my contacts for when people call, bdays, and pic albums. I honestly dont really use FB itself much anymore

I have a somewhat related question: Is there any way to NOT sync my facebook contacts with my phone and/or remove them?

I have no need for all 300 or FB friends to show up in my contacts list.

Just as an update I flashed back to an old nandroid of Fresh 1.1 and it fixed the FB sync. I wiped and then flashed back to 2.0d and it stopped working. I tried this a few times wiping and flashing with no success. At this point I'm done trying everything else works great and FB sync was just a really nice extra, I'll just wait for a rom based off the official 2.1 whenever sprint finally decides to drop it.
