You should update your phone info Mustang. There are many benefits, it is visually nicer IMO, better apps, nicer Market, more support, newer software etc.....

what i was looking forward to before jumping ship back to WinMo was universal search. the search bar on the home screen will not only run a web search on demand it will search your phone for contacts, apps, docs, etc. if you've ever used a Pre you'd be familiar with the concept and that was my single favorite feature of WebOS

this may be a noob question ...but will 2.1 have live wallpapers, or will i have to wiat till the nexus one come to sprint? Honestly ...besides a an updated rom what else will be added worth wild? any help here?

I am guessing it won't include live wallpapers "officially". I could be wrong, but due to our hardware and everything I don't think they will do it. I am not saying ti can 't be done, I just don't think it will be done with the official upgrade. I know the new Fresh ROM has live-wallpapers to an extent, I don't know about the other new release though. I could be wrong about my thoughts though.

The Hero doesn't posses all the leprechaun magic required to run the higher end live wallpapers, so i'm with you on this one.

there is already an app for that, it's called aurora on the market.

...so will there be a way to "add" live wallpapers onto the hero once the 2.1 update arrives?

I have a stupid, quick question. I'm new on here, and haven't really looked over things, but I'm wondering if I root my Hero, will i still be able to receive the 2.1 update???

You can use them now with custom ROMs, I am not sure on the official update question though, but I am thinking it will just be a custom ROM thing. There might be an app to make it happen though, I would search around.

I am not sure since we don't actually have it yet, but worst case you just go back to a stock setup and update yourself from there

No. Like Carla said you will have to go back to stock to get the update. However Flipz will add this to his kitchen as soon as it drops and you can cook your own or he will release a version almost as soon as it drops like he did with the 1.56 MR. So you won't get it OTA without being stock, but you can add it that day, probably faster than having to download it and wait for it on your phone.
