No kidding, my Hero is already paid for.

I blame Sprint for takin forever to release firmware updates
unless they do it on purpose, so people will buy the newer better phones

but still the people who dont want a new phone should still get the update quicker tho, such a ripoff of them to the people thats not like me to shell out for the new phone

That does help, but i paid 379 for my hero on an upgrade. I doubt the Evo will be that cheap.

You paid $379?? I paid $150 at Best Buy. Were you not out of contract yet? I'm a premiere customer too, but, knowing how the first batch of any phone goes, I'll probably be sporting my Hero for a good 3-6 months after the Evo hits the shelves. I did that whole "buy it the day it comes out" thing with the Touch Pro. I still have nightmares about that phone.

It's not just Sprint. HTC has to re-do sense to work with 2.1 as well.

Name me one other phone that launched with 1.5 that has an official 2.1 update out. I'll wait.

I just got the hero the other day cause it was down to $99 with a contract extension. Im a Sprint Premier customer, so i get an upgrade every year. I was gonna wait for the evo, but figured it would be expensive as hell. But actually its only gonna be 199. I dont know if thats to new customers only or if it will apply to those who qualify for upgrade.

I actually paid $79.99 through Best Buy even though I am on an Everything Referral plan. I also got my phone the a couple days before the official release date.


And I am sick of waiting for Sprint's official release of 2.1
