Gmail contacts deleted - very angry - Page 2

I ran into the exact same problem. I am on the hunt for a good contacts replacement just to make it a bit easier for me.

Dagger. Change your phone so it doesn't sync "all contacts" and instead only syncs the "My Contacts" group.

Gmail will not automatically put any addresses in the "My Contacts" group. Only add the contacts you want to have in your phone in the "My Contacts" group. Then you will have your most important, properly-formatted contacts on your phone and they will be synced with and backed up at Gmail.

Guys is there not a way to hard reset the thing to remove all the google account info? If I remember corectly the option to choose what group to sync was during the initial setup

You know what half your issue is?
You expect support. This is a forum. Not a "paid" forum, not a official (sprint-wise) hero forum, just a forum on the internet. People VOLUNTEER their time and patience to try to help people. No one gets paid and no one gets anything out of it. The way you post is demanding. "I demand support" "I demand it work this way" "I don't care for your answer" "I don't care for your post" etc. You get the point.

So why don't you thank the people who offered up suggestions and tried to help you instead of telling them to **** off since it isn't ideal. Be grateful that someone took the time to help you.
