wIFI TEthering isnt working

for me when i install a room wit wifi tether n it dont work i usually go back in to recovery.
wipe all data factory settings
n reflash the room n it works

I got it working with this method. might seem like lot to get tethering to work, but coming from WM wiping my phone clean is no big deal.

I rooted my Hero along with other friends of mine, and only one couldn't get the wifi working, I am going to try a couple things on it today to see if I can get it up and running. I will report back in this thread with my findings.

On a side note Harvey, I think you should go to Starbucks, and get a Zen Tea....? You really need to balance your inner self and elevate you Chi... just a thought.

Yea, Maybe I was a little bit harsh, many apologies, but I think I have some understanding of what I'm doing, so it frustraighted me. On a side note, I don't like they're Zen tea, but, They're Latte's are off the chain.

I did this and it didn't work, but, I went and installed a taskbar, which obviously, made me reboot my phone again, and now it's working? Anyways, thanks has been sent to all.

I'm having the same problem, I just got my hero rooted. flashed to Fresh 1.1, and it was working, then flashed modaco's 2.2 and it hasnt worked since. has anyone been able to solve this?

I personally have never been able to get wifi tehtering working, no matter what I do. I'm running Fresh 1.1 and rooted, i would love a fix for this.

Out of habit, i always adb superuser and wifi tether to the /system/app folder. I've never had a problem. Also, i do it with google voice because i am using apps2sd and it makes the app snappier.
