Sometimes, you may have to reboot your device before you can get the kitchen to work, so be patient....
So the brock bar is in the kitchen. I have been using the kitchen but must have overlooked it. Thanks for the info.

Re: omg the hero rocks..

What are your opinions on the Pre vs the Hero? I have been on Windows Mobiles for about five years now and am definitely bored with it. I currently have been using the Touch Pro 2 since September and am ready for a change. I actually have a brand new Samsung Moment that I have not opened yet because I originally wanted the Pre ever since I saw WebOS in action. I am very close to returning the Moment and getting the Pre but want to wait to see if Palm is going to announce any news on a new device at CES today.

Hero sounds cool, looks cool, feels cool, and there is a mass amount of apps. Do some searching in the forums. Heck, just go to google and type in "Hero vs Pre", you will surely find some info. Make your own opinions, go play with them in the store. Do what best fits your needs.

Yeah the Brock bar is located in the Install Themes. I love it, very cool icons...

rooting and flashing doesn't take ALL the lag away, but it shore it up quite a bit. there is NO way to get rid of all lag on any smart phone or pda. they are computers first and phones second.

def loved the pre.. and have a new one in my dresser atm..pre is a get in get out smartphone. meaning everything works and does it without any effort.. multitasks like no other.. 3 things i dont like... build quality.. and the shiny black plastic...

battery life..( u def need the seidio extended battery ) unless u want to be tied to the charger..

and lack of apps and games..< im sure that will change over time.. but right now... i need more options..

now android .. plenty of apps. the hero rocks.. built way better than the pre.. feels good in hand..( gonna get the seidio 3500 mah extended battery though.. I need some more weight on my phone.. plus batt life.. lol )

once webos takes off.. in the dev dept.. and start getting more apps and games that utilize the power webos things will change.. and hope the pre 2 or whatever it will be called is better built..

but for now.. im toying with the hero..so far i love it..

Re: omg the hero rocks..

I've had my Hero about a month and a half now, and really love it.

Coming from the Blackberry world, it's so refreshing to have such an open and customizable phone - so much more fun to use and enjoyable to show off!

I am pretty much in the same boat. I love webos and how intuative it is but it is just not ready for me. The new games are finally bringing things in the right direction. I will wait till the pre plus comes to sprint first though. The build quality the way it stands is horrible. Lets hope the plus makes things a little better.

I finally just rooted my hero and loaded up FRESH, and man it is really moving nicely now. I really didn't think I would notice but there is a significant gain by doing it. I like that I can theme it now too.

I have similar thoughts. I came from WM(Touch Pro, Palm Pro, TP2) and PalmOS originally.
I started with the Hero for about 2 weeks, picked up a Pre and used for 2 weeks to try them both fairly.
I really wanted the Pre to be my phone after all was said and done. But I am glad that I went Hero then Pre.
The Android OS is more established so it has a ton more apps. I always felt like I was missing something while using the Pre.
I love how the WebOS flows no doubt, and leaving an app open while checking on something else without having to shut anything down is awesome. I hope that it will be possible for Android to do this someday.
The Pre's build quality could definitely be improved but didn't bother me as much as others. The Hero build feels solid with enough weight so not feel like a toy. I think that HTC's Sence UI improves on the Android vanilla UI.
But, overall I think the apps really make the AndroidOS the phone I will use for the foreseeable future. I hope that Sprint will have an HTC Android phone that looks similar to the HD2 and the Snapdragon processor sometime this year.
