omg the hero rocks..

sometimes I love my phone and others I want to throw it out the window. The lag kills me sometimes. I have to get this thing rooted and soon. I hope this cuts down on it. When I say lag, I don't mean just real slow, but I mean like everything takes a second or two to react. The keyboard has it's own form of lag also. The funny thing is, by the time 2.1 comes, I will probably moved on to the next best thing.

Guess im just spoiled coming from my diamond. The 1 sec lag you talk about is nothing compaired to Winmo and just trying to run two apps or having too many texts.

believe me, I remember the windows mobile lag. I had the diamond, touch pro and the vogue or touch sprint calls it. I guess I was looking for a little quicker. Unfortunetly the only other phone that compared was the pre and I have had that and sold that after 5 months. I guess I have to wait for the snapdragon processor to come to sprint in a form of a beast phone.

trust me rooting to Fresh 1.1 will take the lag away even on the keyboard...sometimes using handcents mms it will lag but thats not the rom...rooting will make home screen swipes faster and smoother and pulling up the menu...rooting is very easy also theres lots of tutorials

i wanted to root to get rid of the lag issues but Fresh did not appeal to me very much since from the screenies he customized a lot of the OS and i am fond of the 'stock look'

EDIT: just took a look at the roms thread and saw the updated pics. looks better IMO than the blue theme he had... wish the taskbar was 'stock like' though. im a simple person lol

Yes if you get the fresh-pre kitch (beta) you can load the stock task bar. I used it to load the Brock task which rocks by the way. the kitchen is IDIOT PROOF as well, so don't be afraid to try it... peace-br

go to www.geekfor.me then on the right hand side you'll see a link called downloads. Click there, download Fresh-pre Kitchen (beta). Once you have it all set up on your computer, plug in your Hero (but do not mount it to your pc, just plug it in) go to the fresh kitchen open up and enjoy! Sometimes, you may have to reboot your device before you can get the kitchen to work, so be patient....
