End Button Peeling...

I searched this thinking it would be a common issue, but only found a thread about the paint on the back rubbing off...

The silver material that covers the bottom buttons of my Hero is beginning to peel on the End button. Anyone else have this with their phones?

It's a minor cosmetic thing right now, but it could turn into something more down the road. Do I wait until it worsens to send back to Sprint, or do I take it back now and have them fix or replace it? If I take it back now, should I take it to a store, or do the return thing online to give me more time to reroot the phone?

Just FYI... run the Sprint RUU and your phone will be un-rooted and back to 100% stock. Takes 10 minutes.

that's really weird. looking at my phone I don't see how that is possible. I am not doubting you, but I hope that doesn't happen to mine. I haven't had one problem with my phone.

Can you post a picture? I assumed the buttons were metal, guess not. If it does peel off, is the button just a transparent green or red (depending on which one)?

Re: End Button Peeling...

That has to be a defect specific to your phone because my buttons don't look like they could do that. Yours looks like a overlay. Sprint might resolve it as a defect. Not 100% but that's not normal.

I'd bet that all of the phones have this overlay, at least on the plastic send/end buttons.

Anyone know what the stores are issuing out for replacements?
